The Canada Agriculture Museum, on Prince of Wales Drive in Ottawa, gives you a chance to visit a farm right in the city! While you’re there you can see a lot of different farm animals. There are horses and cows in one barn. Then there’s a Small Animal Barn with sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and goats. When you visit the animals, watch them for a while to see how they behave. What do they eat? How do they walk? What noises do they make? Poets have to observe things carefully so they can write about the things they see.
